Olympics

Jaxon's choir started 10 years ago as the children's olympic choir for the 2002 Salt Lake winter games. Jaxon was one year old at the time of those olympics. But he was around and in the choir for the 10 year anniversary. There were quite a few commemorative activities. I must admit that I probably would not have even heard about these events if the choir was not involved. But they were fun and helped me remember those olympics.

Here is Jaxon in a bobsled.

Here is Jaxon and the choir singing at the Gateway mall. They also sang at the Gallivan center the week before and there were fireworks then.

The choir was given tickets for that night's Stars on Ice/ Olympics Remembered show.
The boys loved it. Chase and Alex had not been to the arena and they thought it was cool to be in such a big building. Playing with the camera before the show started...

Chase took this picture of me.

Then it started. Mitt Romney talked to us! If he wins the election, we can say that we have met the president! (or something like that)

It was really hard to get pictures of the skaters with my camera. This was all it zoomed to, and the spot lights washed the skaters out. But it was really cool to see them in person. This was Sarah Hughes. She won the gold that year. I remember watching 10 years ago when she won and it was amazing back then. It was amazing to watch her now.

Thanks for being in the choir Jaxon, we had a fun night.

Ooh that looks so fun! I still remember watching Sarah Hughes-- most amazing performance, ever. Can we have the olympics again, please?
