October

October is almost over. I should update this blog with some of the things we have been doing. 

Jaxon had his foot surgery on October 2nd. He had a week of this. 

He had Calcaneonavicular Coalition. Some of the bones in his foot decided to grow bone spurs and then fuse together. 

During this week, Alex got the flu. So both of them were just laying around all day. Jaxon got nauseous too, so we don't know if he got it, or his medicine was bothering his stomach.

The healthy boys and I went to the pumpkin patch with my mom. 

Jaxon had to go back to school eventually. Crutches are hard.

We made Halloween houses for decorations. 

Jaxon had his stiches out. The other black lines were sharpie marks that the doctor put on for some reason. 

Tanner and I went to Cornbellies with the youth. 

Chase had pack meeting- here he is telling a joke.

Here they are building a tall tower with spaghetti and marshmellows.

Our ward has a fall potluck dinner and the young women leaders are in charge of it. All  of my boys wanted to make something for it. I didn't remember to take pictures until half of it was eaten.

Jaxon made California rolls.  They really are good.

Tanner made toffee. He has gotten really good at this. He has made it about 8 times and really knows how now. It was delicious. 

Sunday we carved our pumpkins. 

Chase used a drill to make holes everywhere

    

I didn't get a final picture of Chase's. He was busy getting his pumpkin done for a school project. He made a robot pumpkin.

Monday we made sugar cookies for FHE. and guess what? Chase had the flu since the night before. So, no cookies for him!

Tuesday was a busy day at our house. My niece had her baby the night before and I woke up to terrible news that he has heart and lung problems and he had heart surgery this day. We had young women's. It was a combined activity that I was in charge of- we carved pumpkins. Tanner had scouts that night but that didn't make anything busy. The priests had their activity at our house- they played games in our basement. And Andre was going to go with the missionaries to teach a 10 year old boy that is Alex's friend. They ended up at our house to teach the discussion. Chase didn't have anywhere to go. So because he was still sick, he had to be in my room and stay there until everyone left. Also, we had to disinfect all surfaces in our house before people came over. 

Wednesday was the last day of the school week for the kids because of fall break. Alex had scouts and Tanner had Hap Ki Do. so we were still in activity mode that night. Jaxon went to a friends to hang out. 

 Thursday I went to Brenda's house. Just getting the last part of my dad's story done with her take on the childhood part. It is amazing what a great memory she has. Andre took the boys to a movie. they saw Wonder Woman. That night we started watching a cartoon that Jaxon likes- Over the garden wall. Weird. We played a game- Tanner had a late over thing. I've started reading my dads missionary journal so that stuff can go in his story. 

Friday we went downtown on an exploration with my mom. Jaxon is able to walk pretty well now. But after a couple of hours of walking. His foot hurt!

We went to the city Library to explore. 

We went up to the roof.

The reason we went there was because of the Celebration of

life wall. It is near the library. My dad's name is etched on it. 

He was able to donate his corneas and help someone see.

It makes me happy.

Then we took my mom to see Gilgal gardens. We have been there a couple of times. It is so unique. 

The kids had fun running around.

And Jaxon was done with walking. 

The leaves were blowing everywhere! They were so pretty.

Andre's parents came up to visit their newest great grandbaby who has had such a hard beginning to his life. They came to see us too. Then we played a fun game of "7 Up"

Saturday at 6:00am Jaxon and Tanner went to go help someone with his eagle project. They were directing bikers and runners in a marathon. They liked it but it was really cold.
