Chase and I had a morning to ourselves.
Before we got to Vegas, Chase said that he would be happy if he got to see the Eiffel Tower. So we did that.
We went to the M and M store. Chase decided that Orange is his favorite M and M character.
They had tons of M and M's there. (not surprising)
They had a fun movie and it was fun to spend time with Chase. Even though it was a 40 minute walk there and then 40 minutes back in 105 degree weather.
The reason Chase and I had time together this morning was that Andre took the boys to the Las Vegas Temple.
They enjoyed it. It was also kind of fun to see everyone's reactions as they walked out of our hotel, through a crowded casino while they were in their white shirts and ties. We are different from the rest of the world.
When they came back and were walking back to the casino in the parking lot- someone even asked it they were Mormon. The boys said yes, and those people said they were too.
I got a few pictures of us walking along the strip.
We had lunch at a Chinese Restaurant that I can not remember the name of. But it has the yummy lettuce wraps... and we had this really cool private table. We loved it so we had to have a picture of it.
This show was one of the things Andre and I were excited about. It was called the V Show. Stands for Variety. It had magician, comedy, strong men, hoola hoop lady, roller skate trick people and more. It was a fun activity.
We walked out of the show just in time to see the Fountain show at the Bellagio.
Then we wanted to see the Volcano at 8:00 so we had a couple of hours to sight-see.
We went to the Flamingo casino... wait for it...
Ah-Ha! Flamingos.
Then we had gelato and sat on a couch. The couch was heaven in a place that does not have places to sit.
Then we walked up to The Venitian to see the gondolas.
These are all places on the way to the Mirage. But it is still a LOT of walking. This is a moving sidewalk so that was nice. Chase obviously needed to sit.
Jaxon was dying- his foot hurt so bad.
Then came the last thing we were going to do in Vegas: see the volcano at the Mirage. We got there 30 minutes early so we could see well. It was so exhausting just to stand there. Some of us with feet screaming at us. But we did it- thinking that it would be a fun end to Vegas.
(See Chase's new M and M socks?)
Lots of waiting around....
Then when it was supposed to start..... It didn't. It was a super disappointing non-event. So then we walked back to the hotel and died. There is a lot of walking in Vegas.
Day Eight: Driving home
We left Vegas and drove to St. George for lunch with Grandma and Grandpa. I didn't take any pictures before- but right when we were leaving I snapped this cute one of Andre and his parents.
Then we drove home and did the worst part of vacation: unloading the car.
Hooray for Vacations. I love doing all of those fun things. Especially with my family.
