It is warm here. It is actually kind of hot at some points during the days. It is in the high 70’s for highs. I know that this is just a tease and we will be in snow again. But for right now- we are loving it. We have taken Alex outside to play for really the first time in his life. He loves it. His favorite things are to eat dirt and crawl towards the street.
The older boys are so excited to get out. They have really been cooped up and bored during the winter. They have been riding their bikes and scooters and just having fun. We have gone to 3 or 4 parks this week- just because it is warm. Alex likes to go on slides. The static from the slides makes his hair stand straight up until we touch him. Then it instantly falls flat on his head again.
On Saturday Andre had a soccer game and came home bright red. He always gets so sunburned every Saturday. He needs to remember sunscreen more often. But I guess I do too. Last week it was freezing and this week it is like mid-summer so I have not had the springtime to remember stuff like sunscreen. Tanner’s neck was fuchsia. Alex’s head looked a little pink this morning. So I made a point to get his hat for outside. Do you remember Alex’s favorite things to do outside? Well, taking his hat off the instant it was put on just became number one. Alex walks along the sidewalk with his walker toy. Every time a car drives by he holds up his hand like he is waving but he does not move it. He just stops and holds his hand up. It is very cute.
So Andre got totally sunburned and got really used to the hot then went off to Washington DC this week. It is not warm there. So his bright red-ness will really stand out. He is meeting with the Utah Senators and Congressmen telling them about the needs of the Housing Authorities and how that affects the people in their districts. Basically telling them to make sure to vote for funding for HUD and other programs. Isn’t it nice that this trip falls on our 8th anniversary tomorrow. It has been a great 8 years. In fact we had a beautifully warm day for our wedding back then. It was in the 70’s that year too.
Next week it will probably snow again, but for now we are enjoying being warm.

The weather here is a little bipolar, too. Perfectly sunny and warm one day, the next day it's pouring rain. It makes it hard to invite kids over to ride bikes in our cul-de-sac when you don't know what the weather is going to be ... until it happens.
How long will Andre be in DC?
