New Years Celebrations

Last year for Christmas we got tickets for Desert Star Theatre from Gordon and Carol. We decided that since we had Hale Center tickets all year that we would save these for the Christmas show.  It was very fun. I think a lot of the boys like Desert Star better that Hale Center- because there is food involved.
Jaxon does his best to smile in the most annoying way.

See- he looks nice here.

...and back to annoying.

Well we had a surprise on New Years Eve morning. My brother ( who had spent a few days with Allison's side of the family)  drove to the airport- and you guessed it. Flight cancelled. So it was a bonus for us! We got to hang out with them for another day. But so annoying for them to have problems getting here and leaving here. So we hung out played some games and went to Five Guys burgers. Then we said goodbye to them again and we went to go see the Star Wars movie with Joanna (we had previously purchased tickets).

When we got out of the movie we found out that their flight was cancelled again and this time for good. So they were back at our house to stay for the night. Bonus again! (for us- not them).
So they joined us for the traditional Bartlome Olympics! It was fun having fresh blood in the tournaments.

We just did the basics... Ping Pong

Cup Stacking

Air Hockey

and other random games.

It came down to Chase and Jeff for the championship game on Air hockey. Chase will never forget this game. Jeff was up 1 - 0. and the puck got stuck in the middle. The both went for it and Chase's thumb got smashed between paddles. It was a big smash and Jeff thought it might be broken.

Then just a few seconds later Chase calmed down and said, "I'm going to finish this". Well he did finish it by slamming in 2 more points in a row and being victorious!

Ice cream sundays!
and Wii Bowling

(and Tanner is still wearing the skates all over the house)

It was a fun night. Jeff and Allie were going to leave in the morning but they were able to get a rental car that night at 10:00 and they drove home. Happy New Year to them.

We stayed up and watched Lord of the Rings until midnight- did a New Years cheer and went to sleep!

It really was a couple weeks of celebrations. It was fun. Now back to real life.
