July 3rd

While Andre and the two older boys went to Lagoon on July 3rd, the younger boys and I went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Alex was SO happy. He loved the pool and doing fun things that we don't do at home.

He thought it was so funny to pour water on Grandma's head. Grandma loved it because she was hot. Alex has not ever said the names Grandma and Grandpa. He just speaks Chinese. Well, this day we found out that Chinese for the words grandma and grandpa are the same. It is "Ah". Like- Grandm"ah" and Grandp"ah". He can say hundreds of words correctly and in English, but for some reason he won't say those names right. He must have learned them wrong and it is hard to change.
Chase had fun too. He is actually pretty happy no matter what, but he does like to be in new places. He likes to be outside a lot.
Alex loved the sandbox. Really all you have to do is give him a hose and it will occupy him for hours. He just squatted like that for a really long time without really moving. He got sand on the shovel and washed it off. Then he got sand on his hands and washed it off. It continued for a long time. Grandma can not believe how long he can squat without it cutting off the circulation to his legs.

We don't have any pictures of the other half of the family at Lagoon. They had A LOT of fun. Jaxon lives for roller coasters. He has long said that he wants to build roller coasters for a profession when he grows up of course. This year Jaxon is tall enough to go on every ride in the park. He is even not too tall so he can still go on the baby rides (he didn't want too however). The scariest ride Andre has ever gone on is at Lagoon and it is called Wicked. Jaxon went on it and loved it. He even wanted to go on it again. But none of the adults would go with him. Jill's friend Aaron wasn't sure if he should go on a roller coaster in case it made him woozy. So they talked him into going on that one. That was not the best choice! Jaxon's favorite ride was either the Sameri or the Rocket. There is a new ride called the Odysea. You can steer yourself away from or into the water. Of course he aimed for the water every time. They all loved the water rides. It was a HOT day. They were basically soaked all day. He was not impressed with the swing ride. It is kind of like a carousel but you are in a swing. Anyway, after he got off it it, he walked away and said, "boring". If he was a worker at Lagoon, he would like to run one of the carnival games. He loves that kind of thing.

Tanner loved Lagoon too. Lagoon's web site does not have pictures of any of his favorite rides. He loved "Puff the Dragon" roller coaster and others. He didn't get to go on all the big rides but he was fine with that and didn't get mad. He and Aunt Joey did a lot of the smaller rides when everyone else was in the huge lines for the roller coasters. Once Joey saw duck food in the coin machines. She said to Tanner, "Lets feed the ducks!". Then she put money in the gumball-type machine and handed Tanner the small brown pellet food. Then she turned and got some for herself. Well, Tanner had no idea this was duck food. By the time Joey realized that, he was busy chewing on some with a gross look on his face. Tanner was also the best bumper car driver. He was very careful and was proud of himself that he avoided all the other cars. Jaxon was all for getting into monster crashes and Tanner loves being a defensive driver. When on the "Tidal Wave" ride Tanner watched everyone around him raise their hands above their heads when the ride went up. He wanted so hard to be big. He would barely let go of the bar and put his hands up a tiny bit. But he did it! Aunt Jill's favorite story was that when Tanner was on the Music Express ride she told him to not squish her. This is one of those rides that goes around so fast that you can't help yourself from being pulled to the outside. Because Jill told Tanner that, (in a teasing way) he held on super tight. He never let go of that bar and he was so strong that he never even touched Jill.

Looks like everyone had fun on the 3rd and the 4th of July! Good choice to let the older ones go to Lagoon and the younger ones just play in the water and the sand. More fun for all! Alex really looks like Andre in that picture in the little pool. Just wait until they are all old enough to light the fireworks! Won't that be fun!
