San Francisco Day 2

I remember this museum when I came to San Francisco as a teen  and I was excited to see it on our discount card. I loved it then and my kids loved it too. The first day we saw the academy of science. We LOVED that. But guess what? The kids liked the exploratorium more. 

It was science experiment after science experiment- all hands on and all really unique and fun.

We spent 3 hours here and maybe saw half of the exhibits. Maybe we saw more than that but didn't have time to do everything.

Display about impressions. would you drink out of a toilet? There were lots of signs up about how it was a drinking fountain and the water was clean. But would you do it?

We were sad to leave. But we had a lot more to do. We walked down to pier 39 and saw the bay and Alcatraz island.

Then we walked down to a different pier and got on that boat.

We had to walk up four huge hills like this one. This is fine but we had been walking all day already. Our feet were tired.

Then we had a tour of Alcatraz. They give you your own headset and player and you got to listen to guides as it tells you where to go and what happened there.

Jaxon wanted to go off on his own. We are way to embarrassing to be seen with. But I saw him!

Our kids are pretty cute.

Then we had the boat ride home.

It really is so beautiful.

It was such a warm clear day. We could see the bridge really well.

Then we had dinner on Pier 39 before we started the trek to our hotel.

Our trek: we took a bus to the train, the train to South San Francisco where our hotel was and then a 15 minute walk to the hotel. We were on our feet all day (even on the buses and trains- they were so full we usually had to stand most of the way) and we were exhausted.
